About TORFL
In 1998 the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation generated the TORFL Test (Test of Russian as A Foreign Language). This test was designed to determine a student’s level of Russian language. TORFL system has been ratified by the Association of Language Testers in Europe(ALTE), and the European Council.

Students of Echo Eastern Europe language centre regularly show high pass rates of TORFL Russian language certificate. The exam can be taken at our centre in Kyiv (Kiev) all year round. The TORFL Certificate is recognized by all Russian official establishments and other organizations outside of Russia.
TORFL Russian language certification consists of 5 subtests (parts):
- reading test,
- spelling test,
- lexicon test,
- listening test,
- speaking test
and has 6levels – from A1 to C2.
The duration of TORFL Russian as a foreign language exam depends on the level and usually takes from 2 to 4 hours. Exams for all levels of the test are held in one day.
A passing score amounts to 66% (from 100% for each part of the TORFL test). In case you don’t gain the required amount of passing score in one of the subtests, you may pass this subtest of the test once again during a year. The scores of other subtests will not change. Usually the Russian language certification results are revealed in a week after the test.
The cost of the exam consists of Russian Federation state duty for issuing a certificate and 2 expedited deliveries – from Moscow to Kyiv (Kiev) and then to other cities of Ukraine. Sending to other countries requires additional payment. Certificate features only the issue date and no validity date. TORFL Russian language certificate is issued only in Russian language. If you want to have it translated to any other language – you should order notarial certification.
