Hello! Let’s learn how to wish someone a good night. If you want to say “Good night” in Russian, you can say:

СПОКОЙНОЙ НОЧИ
(spa-KOY-nay NO-chee)
Literally: “(I wish you a) calm night”

or you can say:

ДОБРОЙ НОЧИ
(DOH-bray NO-chee)
Literally: “(I wish you a) kind night”

That is also very polite and kind.

It’s very important to know that unstressed “o” is usually pronounced as “a”. This is the basic and constant rule about reading in Russian.
